There is no question that we are in an unprecedented time that will alter the course of how we all, around the globe, do business. I am choosing—even in these stressful, isolated, and frightening times—to lean into positivity, and the things that we can do as a company in the space of helping cultures thrive. This is the time for all of us to step up and do more. We must do more for our fellow citizens and for the amazing humans that support and help our businesses be successful.
Our people are our most valued asset. They are wonderful, unique, and not one of them is expendable. Businesses everywhere are trying to come up with ways in which to remain afloat, while people are trying to figure out how to live with being furloughed, laid off, or having a substantial pay cut. Families with working parents are trying to figure out how to balance working from home and teaching—perhaps with shared office space or no dedicated space at all. It’s hard—and we need to be flexible in our expectations.
This is the time where we need to do more. We need to extend our empathy to our people more so than ever. And when this crisis starts to minimize, and when things start to normalize, we will simply never be the same. Not as leaders and not as businesses. And it’s okay—humanity’s ability to innovate in times like this is our collective superpower. This crisis will be a significant part of our history and will shine a light on those who stepped up to help willingly, selflessly, and with a fierce empathetic fight in their very bones.
I started this company with my co-founder in 2015 to provide those other benefits outside of health and wealth that focus on employee experience. And we’ve evolved as a platform and company to really focus on the heart, the mind, inclusion, and the happiness of our employees. This is a gift to have the opportunity to take care of our employees while extending this ability to companies around the world.
It’s not necessarily about the monetary rewards—it’s steady and focused energy to help deliver authentic feelings of inclusivity and recognition for an individual’s contribution to your company. No job is insignificant, and people should feel that.
Happier and more engaged employees make more profitable business outcomes. And we believe in profits with a conscience. That conscience protects our people and celebrates them daily. And this time is only different in the way that we need to band together as leaders and show up with more enthusiasm and love than ever before.
Espresa has multiple programs to help extend our vision of Culture Benefits™ to companies everywhere and at no cost. Culture cohesion is paramount to remaining viable. It is both our privilege and our duty to do so. We’re in this together and we’ll get through this time together.
I wish you and your families the best of health and wellbeing. If there is anything we can help you with, do not hesitate to reach out to together@stage-www.espresa.com.
My warmest well-wishes,
Alex Shubat, CEO
